Outdoor wedding ideas: DIY Chandelier made from hanging planter basket
An ordinary hanging planter becomes a gorgeous DIY chandelier with instructions from Jo-Ann fabrics and crafts. Beads are strung on lengths of wire to surround the basket and its hanging wires for an outdoor accessory that can add a little more sparkle using battery-operated candles, so no electric power is required.
While the idea is perfect for outdoor weddings, it is also a fun way to beautify any outdoor "room" for a warm-weather celebration or just to create a romantic setting with the benefit of several flameless candles with battery-powered light.
All materials are available online, but head to the store at 1272 Route 27 in Colonia to see more options and get any project questions answered in advance.

Directions
1. Paint hanging wire plant basket with two coats of white spray paint. Let dry.
2. Measure from the basket bottom to its rim. Cut a strand of beading wire 3 inches longer than the measurement.
3. Using a crimp bead and pliers, secure the beading wire to the bottom between the two vertical basket wires.
4. String beads on beading wire as shown in photo or in a random pattern until the beads reach the basket rim. Secure the beading wire to the basket wire at the rim using a crimp bead and pliers.
5. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 all the way around the basket.
6. Measure from the basket rim to just below the basket hanger. Cut a strand of beading wire 3 inches longer than the measurement.
7. Line up the beading wire with the hanging basket wire and secure one section of the wires using a crimp bead and pliers.
8. String beads as shown in photo or in a random pattern up to the top hanger.
9. Secure the beading wire around the hanger using a crimp bead and pliers.
10. Repeat Steps 6 through 9 for all the basket wire.
11. Cover exposed beading wire below the hanger by wrapping with a single beaded strand and securing with crimp beads.
12. Measure around the basket rim. Cut a strand of beading wire 6 inches longer than the measurement. Secure the beading wire at any point on the rim using a crimp bead and pliers.
13. String beads around the rim as shown in the photo or in a random pattern until there is only 3 inches of wire showing. Wrap the bead strand all the way around the rim, in between each hanging wire and beading wire. Secure with crimp bead and pliers.
14. Measure the flat bottom of the basket. Cut six strands of beading wire twice the length of the measurement. Secure the beading wire around the bottom edge using a crimp bead and pliers.
15. String beads as shown in photo or in a random pattern until only 2 inches of wire is showing.
16. Secure beading wire to basket wire on the opposite side of the basket bottom using a crimp bead and pliers.
17. Repeat Steps 12 through 16 five more times using a center bead from the first strand as the center bead in all 6 strands.
18. Attach the teardrop to hang from the shared center bead using a crimp bead and pliers. Trim away any excess beading wire.
19. Place the mirror in basket's bottom and place battery-operated candles on top.
